ABSTRACT
This research is an empirical study on an attributions style of individual economic success based on the attributions theory. I established the title of an empirical study on an attributions style of an individual economic success based on a theoretical analysis and an advanced research of an attributions theory. This paper conducted a survey of 238 adults inhabited in Seoul Metropolitan Area by age and gender sample extraction method for an empirical study, A results on attributions factors of individual economic success, Persons under 1billions won indicated that an individual economic success charged off ingrained environment (72.1%) and efforts (18.0%). Persons over 3 billions won suggested that an individual economic success charged off efforts (48.0%) and ingrained environment (12.0%), A man of few wealth showed that an individual economic success chalked up to an ingrained environment, But wealthy persons demonstrated that an individual economic success charged off an individual efforts by attributions style of cause perception, Weiner (1979).

ABSTRACT
Tangible user interfaces have been developed in the area of Human-Computer Interaction for the last decades, however, the applied domains recently have been extended into the product design and interactive art, Tangible User Interfaces are the combination of digital information and physical objects or environments, thus they provide tangible and intuitive interaction as input and output devices, often combined with Augmented Reality, The research developed a design guideline for tangible user interfaces based on key properties of tangible user interfaces defined previously in five representative research: Tangible Interaction, Intuitiveness and Convenience, Expressive Representation, Context-aware and Spatial Interaction, and Social Interaction. Using the guideline emphasizing user interaction, this research evaluated installation in a science museum in terms of the applied characteristics of tangible user interfaces. The selected 15 installations which were evaluated are to educate visitors for science by emphasizing manipulation and experience of interfaces in those installations. According to the input devices, they are categorized into four Types. TUI properties in Type 3 installation, which uses body motions for interaction, shows the highest score, where items for context-aware and spatial interaction were highly rated. The context-aware and spatial interaction have been recently emphasized as extended properties of tangible user interfaces. The major type of installation in the science museum is equipped with buttons and joysticks for physical manipulation, thus multimodal interfaces utilizing visual, aural, tactile senses etc need to be developed to provide more innovative interaction. Further, more installation need to be reconfigurable for embodied interaction between users and the interactive space. The proposed design guideline can specify the characteristics of tangible user interfaces, thus this research can be a basis for the development and application of installation involving more TUI properties in future.

KJSES 15(4) 565-574, 2012 |
ABSTRACT
This study focuses on a consumer-based design process that overcomes practical drawbacks of the previously used design process. On the contrary of the existing method of attracting design attributes by designers` own insights, it present the PRETREE model that attracts the important design attributes of the products based on consumer preferences. The PRETREE model has the advantage that it does not require identifying design attributes a priori. For the wire-wireless telephones, this study presents the identifying process the important design attributes empirically using PRETREE Model. The PRETREE Model has been widely used in the fields of psychology, consumer science, economics and business administration. It might also be useful in the design field because it can identify the important design attributes objectively without designers` own insights.

ABSTRACT
Decades of psychological research have shown that emotion brings users various kinds of physical and psychological advantages and disadvantages. Moreover, this also impacts human decision-making. However, in spite of the weight of emotion, combined with HCI, relevant research is still insufficient. We hypothesized that the user`s temporal emotion could influence the product evaluation, especially in terms of product usability. Two studies were carried out to investigate the effect of induced priming on user evaluations. In exp1, we manipulated participants` temporal emotions using positive and negative images from IAPS. In our results, we saw image priming had a statistically significant effect, with the positive condition group giving the product high ratings for usability. In exp2, emotional image manipulation was conducted with valence and arousal. As a result, we found that the variables of valence and arousal had some interaction effects. These studies have demonstrated that temporally induced emotion could affect users` emotion in different ways, in addition to influencing product evaluations.

ABSTRACT
Food is crucial for the nutrition and survival of humans. Taste system is one of the fundamental senses. Taste cells detect and respond to five basic taste modalities (sweet, bitter, salty, sour, and umami). However, the cortical processing of taste sensation is much less understood. Recently, there were many efforts to observe the brain activation in response to taste stimulation using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), magnetoencephalography (MEG), and optical imaging. These different techniques do not provide directly comparable data each other, but the complementary investigations with those techniques allowed the description and understanding of the sequence of events with the dynamics of the spatiotemporal pattern of activation in the brain in response to taste stimulation. The purpose of this study is the understanding of the brain activities to taste stimuli in sensory and affective aspects and the reviewing of the recent research of the gustotopic map by functional brain mapping.
