The purpose of the policy is to regulate the guidelines to review and decide the acceptance/denial of the manuscripts submitted to the journal of Korean Society for Emotion and Sensibility, "Science of Emotion & Sensibility."
1. The editor reviews if the form and contents of the submitted manuscript is appropriate or not. Then, associate editor appoints one editorial staff member of the corresponding area after reviewing appropriateness
2. The editorial staff member in charge manages the review procedures by appointing three reviewers who are professionals in the related major field of study. However, when submitting a paper for presentation at an academic conference, the number of reviewers may be two.
1. The Editorial Board of this Society requests paper reviews from appointed reviewers through the paper submission system (submission.koses.or.kr). If an appointed reviewer is unable to complete the review due to unforeseen circumstances, they must notify the Editorial Board of their refusal (via the paper submission system or email).
2. The prescribed review fee will be paid to the reviewers.
1. Reviewers must prepare a "Paper Review Opinion" and return it to the editorial board within two weeks of receiving the assignment for a first review or within one week of receiving a second review.
However, in the case of an urgent review, the review results must be returned within one week of receipt for a first review or within three days for a second review.
2. If a reviewer fails to submit the "Paper Review Opinion" within the designated deadline after receiving the assignment, the Editor-in-Chief may dismiss the reviewer.
Based on the review evaluation standard, the reviewer needs to return the "Manuscript Review Form", in which the evaluation is performed based on one of the following items, with the manuscript to the editorial board of this society.
1) Publish as it is
2)Publish after the revision: Without the re-review, the revised matters need to be confirmed by the editorial board
3)Re-review after the revision: The major revision of the main contents is necessary; therefore, it is necessary to request the re-review to the reviewer who requested the re-review.
4)Do not publish: The submitted manuscript is not suitable to the science of emotion and sensibility area; if the manuscript does not satisfy more than 2 items among evaluation about validity, creativity, and research method, it will be decided as "do not publish." When it is decided as "do not publish," the valid reason must be concretely suggested.
1. The editor in charge may, based on the "Review Opinions" submitted by all reviewers, determine the paper as "Publishable" or "Unpublishable" or request the author to make revisions based on the following criteria:
1) Publishable: If at least two out of three reviewers determine the paper as "Publishable."
2) Unpublishable: If at least two out of three reviewers determine the paper as "Unpublishable," or if one reviewer determines the paper as "Unpublishable" and two reviewers require revisions.
However, if the editor in charge determines that the paper violates research ethics by falsifying, altering, plagiarizing, inappropriate authorship, or inappropriate duplicate publication, the editor in charge may determine the paper as "Unpublishable," regardless of the reviewers' "Review Opinions" or the review process.
2. Upon completion of all review processes, the editor in charge shall submit the "Editor's Final Opinion" to the editorial board, which determines the paper as "Publishable" or "Unpublishable."
1. The editorial staff of this society makes the final decision of the publication based on the opinion of "Final Opinion Form of Editorial Staff" submitted by the editorial staff in charge.
2. When the contributor does not submit the revised manuscript within three months after being requested to revise the manuscript without any valid reason, the editorial board will assume that the author gives up the manuscript publication.
The editorial board sends the "Notification of the Review Result" to the author within seven days after deciding if the manuscript will be published or not.
Contributors may raise objections to the reviewers' comments or the editorial committee's final review results, and if the editorial committee determines that there is a valid reason, the contributor's opinion may be reflected.
It is prohibited to disclose any information related to the manuscript review to others.
