Interpolation of Color Image Scales

ABSTRACT
Color image scale captures the knowledge of colorists and represents both adjectives and colors in the same adjective image scales in order to select color(s) corresponding to an adjective. Due to the difficulty of psychological experiment and statistical analysis, in general, only a limited number of colors are located in the color image scales. This can make color selection process hard especially to non-expert. In this paper, we propose an interpolation of color image scale based on the fuzzy K-nearest neighbor method, which provides continuous colors according to the coordinates of the image scales. The experimental results show that the interpolated image scales can be practically useful for color selection process.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to analyze physical properties of foreign famous worsted fabrics to realize improvements in qualities of the domestic men`s worsted fabrics and to make an comparison between foreign worsted fabrics and domestic ones. For this purpose, this study carries out both objective and subjective fabric hand measurements using KES-FB system and Blind field test, to evaluate physical properties of worsted fabrics and finally is aiming to make an comparison between the results from the two measurements for enhancing the quality of the domestic worsted fabrics using the 14 specimens of 7 types as worsted fabrics manufactured in Italy, UK and Korea.

Developing the Design Guideline of Auditory User Interface for Digital Appliances

ABSTRACT
In this study, we attempted to provide a distinctive cognitive, emotional ``Auditory User Interface (AUI) Design Guideline`` according to home appliance groups and their functions. It is an effort to apply a new design method to practical affairs to overcome the limit of GUI centered appliance design and reflect user multimodal properties by presenting a guideline possible to generate auditory signals intuitively associable with the operational functions. The reason why this study is required is because of frequent instances given rise to annoyance as not systematic application of AUI, but arbitrary mapping. This study tried to provide a useful guideline of AUI in home appliances by extracting the relations with cognitive, emotional properties of a certain device or function induced by several properties of auditory signal and showing the empirical data on the basic mechanism of such relations.

The objective of this study is to increase the credibility of online board game and to improve the process of user management system to resolve the negative and time consuming complaints of ``intended game over`` caused by other online users who arbitrary stop the game. The suggested system would create profits to company with less investment in time and expenses regarding the forced game over through the online realtime game management system.

Usability Evaluation and Development of Design Prototyping for MP3 Smart Clothing Product

ABSTRACT
This study focused on developing MP3 smart clothing products and usability evaluation. MP3 smart clothing which was developed in this study contains e-textile keypad and a kit. The kit consists of MP3 Player, remote controller module and ear phone, and are easy to assemble and dismantle. And usability evaluation about MP3 smart Clothing which was developed in this study contains e-textile keypad and a kit. For making the MP3 Smart clothing, e-textile signal line and keypad was developed and a metal connection ring also was manufactured to adhere closely e-textile signal line to keypad. The last products are two kinds of MP3 smart clothing, jacket style of MP3-YSJ(Yonsei Smart Jacket) and safari style of MP3-YSS(Yonsei Smart Safari). Then usability evaluation conducted two times about MP3 smart clothing developed. Usability evaluation is classified by a module evaluation and an item evaluation. The module evaluation measured external appearance, material, a music controller, an ear phone(or a mini speaker) and connector. The item evaluation measured social acceptance, feeling of wearing, utility, easiness of maintenance and safety. The module evaluation described totally positive results in the first usability evaluation about MP3-YSJ 1.0 and MP3-YSS 1.0. The item evaluation shows a lower score in the social acceptance, especially the easiness of connector maintenance and the social acceptance of music-controller in MP3-YSJ 1.0 and MP3-YSS 1.0. The second usability evaluation conducted with improved products by the first usability test results. Results from second item evaluation indicated needs to improve the easiness of connector & music-controller maintenance and the social acceptance of music-controller in MP3-YSJ 2.0. In MP3-YSS 2.0, the easiness of material management and the social acceptance of music controller & connector needed to improvement. In particular, users felt inconvenience in the social acceptance because of e-textile keypad arrangement. To outweigh this disadvantage, further study is needed about keypad interface of the music controller.

The Influence of Ring-Back-Tone(RBT) on the Evaluation of Phone-call Receiver`s Personality

ABSTRACT
Two experiments were carried out in order to investigate the influence of Ring-Back-Tone(RBT) music on the evaluation of the phone-call receiver`s personality in dimensions of Openness, Extroversion, and Neuroticism. In a preliminary experiment, the subjects listened to 17 RBT music stimuli in random order and assessed the personality associated with liking for each music using the 12 personality traits(N=15). Among the 17 RBTs, three were selected to be used in main experiment and they were distinguished from each other in terms of the tree personality dimensions(p<0.001). In main Experiment, it was hypothesized that the evaluation of phone-call receivers` personalities would be influenced by the personality of RBT music. Therefore, in the main experiment, the subjects were divided into four groups and each listened to one of the three RBTs or to a plain ringing tone(control group) until the receiver(the experimenter) answered the call. After interviewing the receiver, subjects evaluated her personality using the 12 traits. The empirical results provide evidence that the RBT influences the judgment of phone-call receiver`s personality in terms of the three personality dimensions(p<0.001), supporting the hypothesis. In addition, it is found that there is a positive correlation between the personalities of RBT music and the phone-call receivers` personalities elaborating the affirmative result for the hypothesis(r=0.753, openness, p<0.01; r=0.753, extroversion, p<0.01; r=0.265, neuroticism).

ABSTRACT
The human`s emotion has been used as a key factor in the design area and a marketing technique in a company. Therefore, a company is very interesting in human`s emotional factor for the marketing and the design development recently. There have been very few studies carried out on enhancing how to use the emotional design and the emotional marketing in the kitchenware industry. Besides, almost all of the research works, which attempted to encourage how to use emotional factor for the design and the marketing, was carried out in the theory research level rather than a practical research. This research has been conducted both a qualitative research and a quantitative research in the field. The research methods were as follows; first, this research studied what is the emotional design and the emotional marketing through the previous literature research works. second, the researchers set up the hypothesis and research aims through the previous empirical research works from the researchers who are doing this research. Third, as the main body of this research, this research was conducted through the analysis of companies` data, the data come from the interviews by managers, and the data from questionnaire by the users. The results was produced after analyses of the above all the data. As a results, this research has introduced the successful case study which used the emotional design concept and the emotional marketing as a strategic level in the kitchenware industry. This research results would be able to help some one who wants to use the emotional design as a strategic level in order to increase their market share.

Silk Sensitivity Technology of Nylon Filament Using Fluid System

ABSTRACT
This study surveys the silk sensitivity technology of nylon filament using fluid system. For this purpose, taslan texturing ATY m/c is modified and 4 kinds of nylon filaments with 40d/12f are made using functional chemicals on the modified ATY texturing machine. Using these yarns, 4 kinds of fabrics are woven and processed on the dyeing and finishing. The various physical properties of these fabrics such as water contents, UV-cut, fabric hand are measured and discussed with ATY texturing and functional chemical treatment conditions.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to extract important problem features for care of senile dementia patients. Selected cognitive ability test (Korean Mini-Mental State Examination: K-MMSE) and survey of basic & problem characteristics were conducted on 110 hospitalized senile dementia patients and 30 normal subjects. Problem features of senile dementia patients were extracted using factor analysis. The frequency difference of problem features due to the gender and dementia severities was verified using one-way ANOVA. Twenty problem features were extracted by the factor analysis. According to the gender, there are significant differences in the frequency of problem features in violent language & confabulation, collecting behavior, and repetitive behavior. According to the dementia severities, there are significant differences in the frequency of all problem features except abnormal sexual behavior and audio-visual disorder. The result of this study is expected to be used for the development of the senile dementia patients` life-care monitoring system.

ABSTRACT
We have developed and evaluated a smart clothing system for the measurement of body composition in real time. Two kinds of experimental clothes were developed in this study to investigate the effects of textile electrodes on the measurements. As long as the wearer maintained same posture, the magnitudes of impedance was measured identically even though he got into the clothing again. Moreover we found the clothing could measure the impedance of each body segment.
